National Mall, Washington, D.C.

What better way to spend Independence Day than at the nation’s capital? Celebrate the day with a variety of festivals and shows, followed by fireworks at National Mall. This show will be broadcasted live on television directly from the West Lawn of the White House, and millions of people will be watching from their homes. Get a better view and take in the atmosphere and the patriotic sense that will come with a live in-person view of this magnificent display. Every American should try to make it out to Washington D.C. for the Fourth of July at least once during their life.

East River, New York City, New York

If you are looking for the motherlode of fireworks displays, then look no further. This fantastic firework show is the largest, and most expensive Independent Day extravaganza. This year will be the 39th year of the show. The display will light up the sky over the East River, showing of the colors in the sky over the Manhattan skyline, and can also be seen from Queens and Brooklyn. This year’s shoe will be 25 minutes long and feature over 40,000 shells of fireworks. Per the anticipated display, there entire performance, including musical guests and speakers, will be broadcast live on TV as well, but if you can make it out To New York City, the view is spectacular and unforgettable to see live.

Boston Esplanade, Boston, Massachusetts

Another famous fireworks display is at the Boston Pops concert. This show features live music and fireworks that are fired from Boston’s Esplanade to over the Charles River, lighting up the sky outside the city with magnificent pyrotechnics. This is a free event and is very popular for tourism. Hotels book up fast, so this is a trip you will have to book in advance to see. The planning is all worth it through once you hear the booms and the crackling and see the bright blasts light up the sky.

Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The nation’s birthplace is easily one the most amazing places to catch Independence Day fireworks. Here, the fireworks not only signify the celebration of our country, but also the end of a week-long festival called the Wawa Welcome America festival that leads up to the Fourth of July with performances, food and drinks, to celebrate the holiday to its fullest. Spend the week in Philly to get the full experience and visit historical sights of America’s birthplace to fully honor the holiday and the traditions that come with it.

St. Louis Arch, St. Louis, Missouri

Although as of last year, the fireworks were moved away from the Gateway arch, the fireworks show in St. Louis is still one of the top ranked in the nation. This show can still be visible though, from the arch which is certainly a unique and rare view to see. This pyrotechnic show is a part of the St. Louis Fair that takes place is Forest Park. The three day fair is a free event for all, and features music, shows, activities, and of course, fireworks. Head to St. Louis for the weekend to enjoy great music from headliners like Kool and The Gang, the Mowglis, American Authors, and Chris Young. This will be an incredible festival all-around.

Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, California

As if the mountains framing the beautiful lake wasn’t a good enough view, this setting makes the perfect place for Fourth of July Fireworks. Here the sky is lit up with red, white, and blue that reflects over the water in magical ways. Boats fill the lake to make the view even more special. This natural scenery amplifies these fireworks and the mountains perfectly frame the bright blasts. This is one fireworks display you absolutely do not want to miss.
