If traveling to Asia was one of the items on that list, you will want to go through the following list of the top tourist destinations in Asia for middle-aged travelers.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

In recent years, the city of Chiang Mai has gained more popularity amongst travelers of all ages, especially those who have hit or surpassed middle age. Instead of visiting the well-known city of Bangkok, more travelers are showing up in the northern capital of Thailand. In specific, Chiang Mai is most recognized for its "old city" as this is the area of the city in which orange-robed monks can be spotted quietly walking through the streets in groups. However, there are also cultural activities such as festivals and night markets which make Chiang Mai worth including in your itinerary for your trip to Thailand.

Penang, Malaysia

Penang is a unique region of Malaysia as it is known for relaxation and calm vacations. In fact, the city of Penang is known as the "Pearl of the Orient" as it is recognized as a gem when it comes to beautiful vacation destinations. If you want to go away to an island and forget about the rest of the world, Penang in Malaysia is one place that you may want to consider for this type of trip. Not to mention, this is one place that you will want to eat and let go of your dietary limitations. In specific, Penang is considered the home of the best cuisine in this part of the world. Although Singapore is considered very expensive, it is a place where luxury can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Known for its green city and countryside, you will find a unique blend of cultures that consists of both North American and Southeast Asian influences.

Siem Reap, Cambodia

As one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Angkor Wat has become a popular tourist attraction amongst travelers with an interest for learning about the world, in specific Southeast Asia.
