Although going to the beach is always a great option for a family vacation, there are many other areas on the Oregon coast which deserve to be visited. In fact, there are a few towns that are actually well known for being ideal attractions for family vacations. Seaside is a North Oregon Coast town which is one of the Northwest’s most popular family destinations. This is one area that you do not want to overlook while you are visiting on the coast, because it is beautiful and truly unforgettable for everyone who takes the trip.

This area features bumper cars, an arcade, paddle boats, an indoor carousel, pedal surreys, and many other family friendly elements. The surroundings will make you feel as if you have forgotten about all of your other cares and concerns, making it an ideal location for a vacation. There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy, regardless of their age. There is even a Seaside Aquarium where you can feed adorable seals in your spare time. If you want to go to a beach, Cannon Beach is only 10 minutes away.

Newport is another popular location. It is the home to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, which is one of the top aquariums in the country. There is also an interesting bay front area which features attractions such as a wax museum and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. Sea Lions can be visited and watched from a far, many of them choose to relax on the docks. You can also take a drive towards the south and visit the Sea Lion Caves. This is located around an hour south and is fun for everyone involved.

On the south Oregon Coast, you might be interested in checking out Bandon. There are two of the coast’s unique family attractions located here, which include the West Coast Game Park Safari and the Prehistoric Gardens. These two options are must see locations and are very unique in comparison to some of the other typical attractions that you come across on the coastline. Bandon is a nice location because there are lots of different activities that you can check out while you are there, such as crabbing.

If you want to know about other fun locations to check out on the coast, it’s always a good idea to stop and ask some of the locals. They will be able to tell you about some of the less recognized highlights of the area and provide you with a few recommendations of what you can do with your family during certain days of the week. Vacationing on the Oregon Coast is not only incredibly fun, it is easily affordable. This would be a great option for any family that is seeking to vacation on a budget without having to sacrifice the scenery and the experience of taking a break from the typical schedule. You will never forget your time spent on this beautiful portion of the coast.
