Indoor Waterpark Resorts

Although this may seem like a strange option, it works very well for individuals who have large families. Most of the on site restaurants are not the best option to consider, so you will want to bring your own food, but indoor waterpark options are a great choice for the entire family. Not only does it provide something for the younger kids to do, but some of the older kids can enjoy the activities too. Most locations have a lifeguard on site so that you don’t have to worry about what might happen in case of an emergency. If you are good for browsing around the area, you should be able to find some family friendly suites that are worth staying at for a decent price.

Fun on the Train

Trains are a great alternative to flying for numerous reasons. Not only do they provide you with more comfort and leg room than what you’ve become used to on planes, but they allow you to really appreciate the sights and the beauty of nature while you’re traveling. It’s much more cheaper to travel by train than it is by plane, in most cases. There’s generally no costs for gas to you and you can even sleep on the train during the first night, which is a unique experience in itself. Children and younger family members tend to find this type of traveling to be a vacation all to its own.

Using the RV

If you’re not one of those families that likes camping with tents, using an RV can be a great alternative. It’s more fun because you have most of the amenities that you would get to enjoy if you were still at home. There’s no worry about getting wet during unexpected rain on a camping trip and you always have the chance to avoid staying at hotels if you don’t want to. Depending on the size of your RV and your family, this can be an ideal option for that next vacation that you want to take within the local area or even cross country.

Road Trips By Car

If you don’t have an RV, you can always have some of those fun road trips by car instead. Generally, this only tends to work well if you’re only going to drive within the next few hundred miles – most people don’t like being on a road trip for longer than they have to. However, there are some families who really love the road tripping experience. If you start road trips with your family while the kids are young, they eventually grow to really love the experience.

Family Cruises

Perhaps one of the best vacations for large families can easily be found in family cruise lines. There are packages for families of almost any size and they have a variety of affordable prices. Depending on the ages of the children in your family, you can find a great selection of cruise line which provide activities suitable for everyone.
